Cookie Dough Casein! Whattttttt!!!?

I recently made a post about how I always look forward to my last meal of the day, which is eating my casein before bed and that is no joke. I literally would rather eat my casein at night then a huge bowl of ice cream because I have figured out so many different ways to make it tastes so amazing! Lets start with the basics though. What is Casein and why do I need it?

Casein has the ability to provide your bloodstream with a slow and steady flow of amino acids that could last for hours. It is a slow digesting protein that feeds your muscle throughout the night while you're sleeping! How awesome is that!? Whey protein hits your muscles at a fast rate to help repair and give your muscles the essential amino acids needed right after a workout. Casein takes a little longer for your body to metabolize, but at night...that's exactly what you want!

Ok so now that the terminology is covered there is a myth that needs to be settled. PROTEIN WILL NOT MAKE YOU FAT! Protein is a necessary nutrient your body needs to both build lean muscle mass and to give you lasting energy throughout the day. Overeating your daily caloric need will make you fat and sitting on your butt and never exercising will do the same.

Now the good part! So I am including a few different types of recipes for Casein that will also make you looking forward to your evening treat! All of them I will call Cookie Dough since they have a similar texture! Try them out and let me know what ya think!

                                                  Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie Dough

Ok so this one is good for a HIGH CARB day. I ate this one the night before my shoot when I was carb loading or you can use it for an insane leg day where your legs are much higher. This one was pretty delicious too!

1 Scoop Vanilla Casein Powder
Cinnamon (To taste)
1/4cup to 1/2 Cup Dry Oats (Depends on your carb needs for that day) DON'T COOK OATS
1 Tbsp Sugar Free Syrup

Make Casein Sludge First! Mix cinnamon, casein powder and sugar free syrup together and slowly add water till you have a cookie dough consistency. Then stir in DRY OATS until mixed (Add more water if necessary since the oats absorb some of the water). Place in freezer for 10-15 minutes and voila! You have Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie Dough!
